Let me start by saying that I believe there are two things every dog owner needs to do. 1^st is to learn what good dog structure is - this will help in any activity you choose to do with your dog and will also help you in understanding different types of dog conformation. The 2^nd is to always keep an open mind when it comes to training your dog. My dog Sara is a perfect example of why it is so important to keep an open mind when training your dog. Sara and I signed up for the “Foundation for Performance” class at Sirius. After a few classes it became apparent that Sara was very insecure with other dogs and had a real issue with acting appropriately around other dogs. This behavior carried over into other venues and it was becoming very difficult to bring her places. With a positive attitude and an open mind I used the tools given to me by Sirius and quickly started to turn Sara’s behavior around. I could not have done this without Barbara and Kyle’s positive approach and know how. Sara can now walk into a dog show without sounding off or going after other dogs. She has become a confident dog and knows that other dogs are not trying to get her and she has even managed to pick up a 3^rd major and become a champion! The Foundation for Performance class has opened up a whole new world for me with training. I look forward to taking Obedience classes at Sirius Fun and adding a few more titles to Sara’s name! Thank you Sirius Fun for teaching this old dog some new tricks!
